The short version

KeptInFlow is a local-first desktop app. Your notes, snips, prompts, and settings stay on your computer. We do not run accounts, analytics, or a data-collecting backend.

Your AI provider keys and prompts

If you bring your own API key (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, and others), the key is stored in the Windows credential store and is read only by the app's native code. Prompts and attachments are sent directly from your machine to the provider you chose, under that provider's privacy policy. They do not pass through servers we operate.

Included AI (free tier and subscription)

If you use the included AI actions instead of your own key, requests are relayed through our proxy service to the AI provider. The proxy keeps a monthly usage counter keyed to your email address or license key so it can enforce the plan's limits. Request and response content is not stored.

Purchases

Payments, invoices, and license keys are handled by Lemon Squeezy, our merchant of record, under their privacy policy. We receive the information needed to validate your license (such as your email address and license key status) and nothing else.

Software updates

The app checks a public release feed to offer updates. This is an ordinary HTTPS request and is not used to identify you.
